We achieved flexibility in this modern office design by providing a choice of working environments. There are social areas with comfortable seating; enclosed areas for more individual and small group tasks; quiet nooks for meetings; and rooms for video calls with colleagues and clients. This varied mix of spaces allowed for hot desking, creative interaction, collaboration, and socialising, all to help foster productivity. The inclusive feel of the office interior is one that promotes employee wellbeing.

Our human centred design creates an environment where people want to spend time. This in turn improves staff retention and attracts new talent – both goals of the client.

We’re pleased to announce that our commercial interior design for Sika has received a gold award for office design at the 2025 London Design Awards. The project was centred around creating and fitting out an openly sustainable workplace that encourages communication, harnesses natural light, and places employee wellbeing at the heart of the design. To have this recognised by an international panel is a rewarding reflection of the considered approach we take to designing spaces that are both functional and human-focused.

Over the next decade, the aesthetic style and flexible functionality will be used as the datum for a continued roll out as an asset improvement program for Sika’s UK property portfolio. to other Sika office locations with the intention of improving their overall corporate wellness. The hybrid office design gives greater flexibility to employees, allowing them to split their time between tasks within the office itself as well as working remotely. This is aided by enhanced connectivity through the digital infrastructure.

Although this is undoubtedly a modern office design we purposely avoided paying too much attention to current trends as they can quickly date; resulting in premature interior overhauls. To us longevity is as much a core principle to sustainable design as the materials used. Drawing on classic Scandinavian and mid-century influences, while using a muted colour palette, twinned with the timeless appeal of natural materials, the office design aims to be viable for years to come.

Our modern office design features a central touchdown area for team meetings and individual work, including a custom high table with enhanced connectivity and an acoustic-engineered canopy. Sustainable custom lockers provide staff storage during hot desking.

Bespoke desks with integrated cable trays, wireless charging points, and pop-up chargers are complemented by acoustic considerations throughout, such as sound-absorbing seating and pod sofas. Collaborative efforts with Sika prioritized hot-desking based on employee preferences and a human centric approach to enhance well-being. And to create an all encompassing conferencing space, we designed and installed a custom made circular meeting environment, with upholstered banquette style seating focused around an advanced conferencing hub.

The entire project was managed by Liqui Group, from demolition, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), through to compliance including CDM and HSE.
We also incorporated an advanced HVAC system. This system not only offers precise climate control and superior air quality but is also significantly more energy-efficient than traditional radiator-and-boiler setups. With HVAC systems achieving energy efficiency ratings of up to 98.5% and reducing operational costs over time, Sika’s office design aligns with their forward-thinking ethos. Beyond comfort, this approach also reflects environmental responsibility, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and supporting Sika’s sustainability goals

The inclusion of custom lighting and bespoke furniture crafted in Britain adds unique value, providing clients with a comprehensive turn-key service for a complete office fit-out solution.

The Sika office transformation was a collaborative effort emphasizing open-plan and sustainable design, with a focus on bespoke furniture solutions. Merging modern technology with handcrafted precision, we created various pieces, including secure lockers, seamlessly integrated storage cabinets, efficient hot desking solutions, collaborative meeting pods, and comfortable, sustainable seating.

Using advanced CNC technology, our in-house team cut and detailed materials to precise specifications, ensuring the highest standards for sustainable office furniture, followed by meticulous handcrafting and installation.
